Operations Director
“I have been with Silver since 2015. In the past, the business has grown largely by recommendation and that’s been down to the quality of the projects that we deliver. As we expand our services and operations and move into new regions and sectors, it’s vital that we maintain the same high standards. I have every confidence that we have the right teams with the right skills to do that.”

Associate Director, Construction
Ashley joined Silver in 2009. An experienced project manager and employer's agent, his major projects include the construction of the UK's first eco-town at Bicester and Southmere Village, Thamesmead.
“ Silver has a great working atmosphere, relaxed but professional and supportive. I joined as a trainee and they really encouraged my development. We have a great approach to projects too. We try to add value every time, even if that means going beyond our brief to point out a gap to be filled or an issue to be addressed. The priority is always achieving the best possible result.”

Lauren joined Silver in 2015. She has over ten years’ experience as a building surveyor, working both on the client side and within larger consultancies.
Client: A2Dominion Housing Group
Services: Building Surveying and Contract Administration
As part of our scope, we have undertaken desktop, visual and intrusive external wall surveys (EWS). We were then appointed to deliver the remedial works on behalf of our client. This appointment follows the release of the Building Safety Advice from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, which was produced as part of the Grenfell Inquiry.
The site comprises two large residential blocks set over nine storeys (24m high) with existing render over polystyrene insulation cladding. We worked collaboratively with the client, fire engineers, designer, Approved Inspector, contractor and structural engineers to replace the cladding system in its entirety with an A2-rated system.
The tenure of blocks are a mix of leaseholder, shared ownership and key worker accommodation. Following completion of the EWS surveys, we assisted the client with their application to the Building Safety Fund. We produced the tender documentation, tendered the works, negotiated the contract, assisted the client with the serving of Section 20 notices to the leaseholders and are currently administering the works on site.

Gosse Court is a seven-storey mixed use block of flats with ground floor commercial units. The site is in a built-up area and backs on to the Kingsland Basin, part of the Regent Canal.
Our appointment comprised the investigation and project management of cladding remediation to the building.
We have undertaken a three-stage survey process including intrusive investigations in conjunction with fire engineers. Following the conclusion of these investigations we developed cost estimates for submission to the Building Safety Fund.
As part of our service, we also assisted our client to meet the requirements of the application process for funds to complete the remediation works.
We are currently in next phase of the project, where Silver are leading the multi-disciplinary project team in undertaking pre-construction stage of remediation of the cladding. This had included feasibility reports, cost estimates, design and project management. We continue to work collaboratively with our client, design team and fire engineers to ensure that the project adheres to the ‘Golden Thread’ principles of information. We are also advising our client of the implications to the recent changes to Approved Document L and how this impact the project to ensure they are kept abreast of best practice and guidance.
Our client said: “We have relied upon Silvers expertise throughout our cladding investigations. Silvers have provided us with ample support in the cladding investigation progress in response to the building safety crisis. From the intrusive investigation to understand the make up of the external wall system to costing the remediation routes to make informed decision on achieving compliance.”
