Where We Are Working

Although our head office has been based in central London since we were first established, the geographical reach of our operations is far wider.

Increasingly, clients in both the public and the private sector are asking us to bring our expertise to bear on a wide variety of projects in locations across the UK. The map shows some of them.

“I have been at Silver since 2004 and have headed up a number of departments within the company. The business has certainly evolved, in terms of the services we offer and the expertise we can draw on in-house. We now have a really strong team in place, ready to take the business forward and harness the many opportunities we have in sight.”

Antony Iannaccone

MRICS ACIArb MFPWS

Chief Executive Officer

“Since joining Silver in 1990, I have seen it develop from a small quantity and building surveying practice to a consultancy with an impressive range of in-house disciplines. We have managed to stay one step ahead of evolving customer demands and changing markets by being innovative. If we can find a better way of doing something, we’ll do it. There’s only one thing we won’t change – our commitment to our clients.”

Sarah Odell

BSc (Hons) MIoD

Managing Director

“I joined Silver in 2008 and it has been really satisfying to see the business go from strength to strength in the last few years. What really excites me now is the way we are diversifying, not just in terms of the services we offer, but also the industry sectors and the geographical areas in which we work."

Peter Mack

MRICS

Board Director, Commercial and Development

“I joined Silver in 2015. Previously I had worked on the contractor side of the industry and one of Silver’s great strengths is the number of highly-experienced people with a similar background to myself. With the in-depth understanding that gives us, we can make a valuable contribution at every stage of the construction process. Clients really appreciate it and it’s the key to our future growth.”

Mathew Fenner

MRICS

Operations Director

“I have been with Silver since 2015. In the past, the business has grown largely by recommendation and that’s been down to the quality of the projects that we deliver. As we expand our services and operations and move into new regions and sectors, it’s vital that we maintain the same high standards. I have every confidence that we have the right teams with the right skills to do that.”

Tracey Holland

Director, Strategy & Business Development

“I joined Silver in 2009 to manage and coordinate the transition into the new Silver brand. Since then I have seen our brand strength in the sector continue to grow as the business has embraced new opportunities and challenges. There are exciting times to come and I look forward to playing a part in them.”

Harry W Hill

BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS MCIArb

Director, Corporate Services

“Since starting at Silver as a trainee surveyor in 2007, I have enjoyed the benefits of working for a popular, friendly and successful company. Our clients are also our friends and the Silver ethos is that, if we continue to work hard on their behalf and learn from all our experiences, we will succeed.”

Our Mission and Vision

Mission

To be the consultant everyone wants to work with.

Vision

Synonymous with excellence and thought leadership, our vision is to be a recognised leader in the construction and development sector, providing services that benefit our clients and leave a positive impact on society as a whole.

Our Values

  • We treat our clients’ interests as our own and deliver quality, predictability and profitability on every project.
  • We develop long-term relationships with our clients and learn from our shared experiences.
  • We work collaboratively, so the whole team shares in our success.
  • We invest in our people because they represent the future of our business.
  • We innovate in order to develop better ways of delivering services and products.
  • We work responsibly, ensuring that people are safe and that we leave a positive legacy.
  • We actively support local communities, businesses and charities.
  • We work to minimise our impact on the environment and have ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation.

Making a Difference

Our activities can have a direct and lasting impact, and we strive to make Corporate Responsibility and Social Values an integral part of everything we do.

  • Health & Safety. We have a dedicated Health & Safety Team and are committed to maintaining the highest standards at our offices, on site and anywhere we work.
  • People. We treat our employees, clients and stakeholders fairly and with respect, and work collaboratively without discrimination. We are committed to the personal and professional development of our people, helping them to acquire the skills they need to reach their full potential. We aim to be a place where people want to work, where they can have fun and still provide clients with a great service.
  • Environment. We constantly review our processes to minimise their environmental impact and have ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation. A waste minimisation and recycling programme reduces our office waste going to landfill. Avoiding unnecessary business travel and encouraging public transport use cuts carbon emissions. We also identify, evaluate and promote sustainable opportunities in our work for clients.
  • Charity. We actively support local communities, businesses and charities. This includes helping with community initiatives, providing work experience for schools and colleges, supporting local employment and training, mentoring, charity events and sponsorship.

SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING

We were established in 1945 as Cyril Silver & Partners. Originally specialising in quantity surveying and building surveying services, much of our work involved the refurbishment of bomb-damaged properties, conversions and party wall matters.

By the 1970s, our client base had grown to include registered providers, banks and private companies with significant property portfolios. Our list of services has continued to expand since the 1980s, and today we have teams with the specialist expertise to offer a wide range of buildings and construction consultancy solutions.

A rebranding in 2010 saw the practice change its name to Silver.
